Monthly Screening & Discussion Series

The New York Documentary Center proudly launched docshop in July 2001.

Highlighting the films of New York area veteran and new filmmakers, docshop will screen outstanding documentaries to an audience of filmmakers. After each screening, the directors will discuss the art and craft of documentary making with the audience. This monthly series will take place at The Pioneer Theater in New York's East Village (155 E 3rd St. at avenue A). Each screening will be preceded by a "Two Boots Pizza and Brooklyn Beer" reception in The Den, a popular spot below the theater. docshop will offer an intimate setting for filmmakers to not only view important documentary films, but also to exchange ideas and continue to strengthen the local documentary filmmaking community.
